For starters it's the German word for hunter but the knife was actually named after the hawk-like bird named Jaeger that nests near the Alaska hunting and fishing lodge and is incredibly sleek and streamlined - just like our knife. Designed as a premier boning and caping knife this is lightweight and easy to carry but incredibly versatile and strong with a 0.118" thick blade.
